Children teeth are as important as the permanent one of adults and teaching your child to race care of its teeth early on is the key to a healthier smile in the future. Keeping your child'S teeth healthy means you will have to teach him how to properly brush at least twice a day, hot to use dental floss and not to miss a dental appointment at least once a year. If you're wondering what is the age to take your child to his first check, we recommend you do it when his or she is two. In the beginning, a child may fear the dentist and even be terrified to step into a dental practice. It's important to explain to your child that dental visits are not to be avoided or feared. Never lie to him, try to explain in simple words what the dentist will do during the visit. Children must understand that the dentist is a friend of their teeth and he will do everything to make them smile and not feel any pain.

When you teach your child how to properly brush, always use a toothpaste formulated specifically for children. Use small amount of paste and brushes with soft bristles. Remember to be gentle. You don't want your child to feel any discomfort while brushing.

Often parents give in to children when it comes to regular dental hygiene; after all,w hy would be care so much about  it when milk teeth will fall out eventually? Now that is a mistake. Dental infections and inflammations during childhood can lead to more dental complications once permanent teeth are in place. That is the reason why no dentist will ignore a cavity and just let it be. Children are to be thought brushing teeth is essential and it should be done every day, with no exceptions.

Furthermore, remember than teeth overcrowding, crooked teeth or gaps between teeth are also not to be ignored. These dental issues can easily be solved during childhood and not to be ignored at any time. It's always better to prevent further complication than to treat, therefore don't ignore dental problems in any circumstances.
